Training for PE specialism primary teachers announced

The Elmridge Teaching School are pleased to announce that we are offering further training for primary PE teachers this year.

From September 2019 we are delivering the Level 5 Certificate in Primary Physical Education Specialism and Subject Leadership, in partnership with Everyone Learning Teaching School. The course is open to teachers, higher level teaching assistants, teaching assistants (extensive experience delivering across all years) and coaches (a minimum Level 2 NGB award and 5 years experience delivering to KS1 & 2) to assist in raising standards within primary school education.

The course leader will be Steve Busby Steve Busby BEd (Hons) and NPQH who has many years experience at teaching and leadership level in education in Manchester and Trafford having specialised in Primary Physical Education in Liverpool.

Steve has coordinated PE at all of the four primary schools he has worked in and also led the boys’ PE department at Barlow High School in Manchester for four years. More recently he was a head teacher for 10 years at Navigation Primary School in Altrincham. Steve is a director at The PE & Sports Hub and has been an independent consultant in Physical Education for 2 years. He leads inset for schools and for PE coordinators and also works for the Manchester and Trafford Teaching schools as well as leading the Primary PE PGCE course for The Dean Trust.

The six-day course will provide you with the skills and expertise to deliver outstanding PE provision in schools.
