We are delivering National qualifications for Middle Leaders from September

The Elmridge Teaching School, in partnership with Alliance of Leading Learning, is delivering the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML). The programme is delivered with a range of expertise from a number of partner teaching schools, include New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust and Education Learning Trust.

NPQML is aimed at individuals with responsibility for leading a team, including leaders of key stage, subject, curriculum, heads of department and pastoral leaders. This includes those who are, or are aspiring to be, a middle leader with cross- school responsibilities e.g. a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE).

The qualification will support you in becoming a highly effective middle leader, with the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improved classroom practice across your team.
It is expected participants will complete the programme within 12 months.

Department for Education Funding for NPQs in Tameside and Warrington

Ten million pounds is available to support teachers and leaders working in category 5 and category 6 areas to take the new NPQs. This funding will cover full course costs, and all teachers and leaders in these areas are eligible for this funding.

The funding will be for participants who:

  • are working in a school in an Opportunity Area or a Category 5 or 6 area
  • do not already hold the NPQ for which they are applying, and have not previously dropped out before completing the NPQ for which they are applying
